After 2006, we saw several young
bloods making their big debuts in Bollywood. Well, they also had their
Bollywood blood in them. The names include Imran Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Harman Baweja and Jacky Bhagnani. But the only name we see today in the success actors list is undoubtedly Ranbir Kapoor.
Neil Nitin Mukesh was considered as a promising actor when his movie Johnny Gaddar
was released. But it seems like his cards were not right when he
stepped into the entertainment world as he is still in the run to get
his name in the lead actors list.
There was a huge hue and cry when it was reported that the look alike of Hrithik Roshan
would debut in Bollywood and would prove to be a tough competition for
the actor. But when Harman Baweja made his debut people failed to even
recognize him as a star let alone the look alike. Well, his entry and
exit was evidently not really considered a competition to any of the new
comers then.
Jacky
Bhagnani when debuted in Bollywood should have really thought twice
about the movie with which he was debuting. Well, seriously, how many of
you guys even remember the name? But his movie F.A.L.T.U was partially a
right choice for him. At least we had Remo debuting as a director and
of course the popular number Chaar Baj Gaye was indeed the bonus track for him.
Imran
Khan’s debut was perfect. The right story, the right banner backing him
and release at the right time. And the response, of course, had to be
the best. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na proved to be a great
opening for Imran Khan. But what followed was his repetitive roles and
weak selection of movies. He took up a bold step by moving away from the
chocolate boy image to rugged look in Kidnap. Though the movie received an average response, his effort was appreciated. But his movie Luck
proved to be an unlucky one for him. Imran later could not come out of
his charming and the boy next door image which was continued in his
later movies like Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Ek Mein Aur Ek Tu, Break Ke Baad, I Hate Luv Stroys and similar.
But
the one graph which has always been elevating since the beginning was
of Ranbir Kapoor’s. With no hick up, anybody can say that his debut
movie was a complete flop. Well, he is a Kapoor and history shows that
the Kapoors rule the industry. He proved it again. Ranbir’s success rate
has been unmatched. Bachna Ae Haseeno, Wake Up Sid, Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahaani, Rajneeti, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, Rockstar and to the recent Barfi;
Ranbir has not seen replicating his roles. He proved that he could
transform himself from the stupid and funny Prem of Ajab Prem… to the
don’t-mess-with-me Samar Pratap of Rajneeti. This versatile actor proved
to be a true blood of Kapoor.
Well,
with more of the young bloods debuting, it will be interesting to wait
and watch who makes it to the top list in the coming days.
