It's
been a fantastic first six months for Bollywood so for. As we hope for
an even bigger second half here is a bird's eye view into the industry
releases so far.
Pausing
midway through 2012 this July, FridayMoviez takes a look at this year's
releases so far. It has been a year so far of fresh scripts and many
new, promising faces. There seems to be a little something here and
there for everyone.
There have been the dramas cum thrillers Kahaani, Shanghai and Maximum, violent tales of historical conflict and revenge Agneepath, Ishaqzaade and Gangs of Wasseypur, action-fueled attempts to raise your pulse Agent Vinod, Tezz, Rowdy Rathore. Then there were the romances London Paris New York, Teri Meri Kahaani and Ek Main aur Ekk Tu.
The surprise hits however, were brilliantly made and seen in films like Paan Singh Tomar, Vicky Donor and the all time slapstick comedy Bol Bachchan. Big flops have tainted this year so far as well with all big stars Players, and misguided attempts by old Directors and actors in Dangerous Ishq and Department.
By the end of 2012 Bollywood seems to be taking film making to a whole new level with films like Cocktail, Alaap, Aamir Khan's Talaash, sequels Raaz 3, Jism 2 and others Rush, Bombay Velvet and It's my life. Salman Khan starrer Ek Tha Tiger, seems unmissable through its promos and of course, as history has seen it because of its stunning duo cast Salman and Katrina.
In terms of music, Bollywood seems to have welcomed new talent as well with actors singing like Ayushmann and Vishal, Shekhar, Wajid, Amit Trivedi, Sneha Khanwalkar claiming fame.
Hold on, as Twilight Entertainment's debut feature, Directed by Pritish Chakraborthy,"Chal Pichchur Banate Hain", may be the next newcomer hit in Bollywood!
