The Miserly Millionaire who made Millions Laugh - Kishore Kumar and other musicians whose contribution is shadowed by the Super Stars!

The recently released Jism 2, slammed at the box office. Neither did the film do well, nor did the star cast get great reviews - as expected. But the music was appreciated over and over again. Similarly, with most films of the same genre - Murder, Raaz, Gangster and even films that came and vanished in thin air - Saya, Kusoor and Jannat the music has always been praised.

It all comes down to one moral, that the music coupled with a background score, can often make or break a film. Mohit Chauhan is Ranbir Kapoor's voice in Rockstar, and undoubtedly Rockstar is all about the music.

"A singer doesn't generally get the credit for the importance he brings to the career of an actor," said Ranbir Kapoor whose songs in Barfi are also being voiced by Mohit Chauhan.

Over the years, Hollywood has seen Hans Zimmer rise to being the legendary musician. Bollywood and Kollywood has seen the rise of the Oscar- winning music composer and singer A. R. Rahman - and their composition to the film industry has been as important as any other cast or crew member of a film.

When it comes to music, we cannot forget Kishore Kumar's unbeatable contribution to unforgettable Hindi films like - Aaradhana, Kati Patang, Sharabi, Don and Namak Halaal. He graces Hindi cinema with songs like "Yeh jo Mohabbat Hain, Chookar Mere Mann Ko, O Saathi Re" and even songs that havbe found numerous remakes - "Pag Ghungroo Baandh Meera Nachi, Om Shanthi Om and Khaike Pan Banaras Wala."

With actors gaining influence in a film and the kind of role-oriented films increasing - like Salman Khan in Ek Tha Tiger, our singers sure deserve a bigger pat on their backs for their significantly large contribution to the industry!
