Roman Holiday almost marks the beginning of the movies in this genre…

While surfing channels yesterday I had almost given up on the fact that there will be anything worthwhile watching on the TV. Suddenly, I came across this movie… A black and white movie! I am not a big fan of black and white movies, in fact they literally put me off to sleep but then again I am a big fan of Audrey Hepburn and it was her movie- Roman Holiday. http://pliocena.com/ticket/hepburn/roman_holiday3l.jpg

The movie is about a princess who, tired of her fancy lifestyle and tired of being a princess, runs away and travels throughout Rome on a reporter’s scooter. The movie was a milestone, remarkable piece of work which received as many as Ten Academy Awards and Audrey Hepburn went on to win the Best Actress Oscar Award. Is the movie really worth so much appreciation or is it because it was first of its kind movie in the era when Royalties were present?
Well, both. The movie is really spectacular and marks the beginning of such movies. Chasing Liberty, the 2004 movie, for example was onsimilar lines but taking into consideration the present context. Instead of royalty, the girl is shown to be a daughter of the http://www.11points.com/images/similarmovies/chasi-first.jpgPresidentof United States of America, who runs away, tired of her constantly scrutinizedlife. More such movies which released almost at the same time were First Daughter and Eurotrip.
Such is the life of Princesses and First Daughters. Not a very lovely picture huh?
Well those of you who haven’t seen either of these movies, watch them and compare. They are very similar, very picturesque and yet, forme, the movie Roman Holiday is much more superior in terms of execution. The movie was old; no doubt, it lacked some specialized techniques, yet, it was much more straightforward and somewhere, it touched me. Watch all these movies and tell us which one you prefer…
