After long speculation that found actors as wide ranging in age and experience as Jon Hamm and Armie Hammer rumored for the role, Henry Cavill of The Tudors fame has landed the lead in director Zack Snyder's highly anticipated Superman reboot tentatively titled “The Man of Steel!” Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have confirmed to Deadline that Cavill, who was once in the running to play James Bond and Batman in their respective recent reboots, emerged victorious in the quest to don the red, yellow and blue spandex in the film, which is due December 2012.
